Potholes - a poem about roads

Potholes

By Paul Howlett

Potholes in the road, what a load

Lots of bumps, make the car rock and roll

I hate the potholes caused by the rain and trucks

Not a worker in sight, now that really sucks

I find it amazing with our petrol tax dollar

That the roads in Australia are so pitted and poor

Makes the governments in Australia to be really corrupt

To spend all our money till they are bankrupt

Never the poor motorist gets to see a highway

That looks real good smooth and safe

We get roads of the nation look like Swiss cheese

Lots of holes in the making, to trap us in bumps

Making highway driving dangerous

Making travelling a boor

Make our nation look terrible

To tourists one and all.
