A Doctor’s Story by Paul Howlett
A Doctor’s Story by Paul Howlett
In Queensland, solar panels are all
the go, and our local doctor and her husband had applied to see if they could
get solar panels on the roof of their house.
The tradesman from the Solar Panel
Company turned up and was to meet the husband on site at an appointed time… The
husband was late.
Our doctor showed the Solar Panel
Consultant around the house and showed him all the roof lines and had a general
walkabout on their property.
Husband turned up some ten or so
minutes late and profusely apologised for being late.
“No trouble,” replied the Solar Panel
Tradesman, “Your daughter has just shown me all over the property”.
When our doctor finally went out to
see her husband, he was in a very grumpy mood, as both he and his wife are in
the same age bracket.
But it she made her day… she has been
telling this story to one and all.
It’s great for the female ego, when a
stranger knocks off a great chunk of their real age!!

Midnight Phone Call
Midnight Phone Call
by Paul Howlett
Phone rings late late at night
One wakes in a stage of fright
Who is calling what can it be?
Late night phone calls are not for me
They usually bring bad news
Nothing of cheer
Sounds in the dark
Making me fear
Foretelling of bad tidings
Nothing of joy
Let the night phone calls
Be gone for this Year!
