The Phone - a poem about noise
The Phone By Paul
Howlett
Alexander Graham Bell
Invented an
instrument
That gives some folk
hell
It rings and it dings
Makes many a sound
Through cable and air
Doesn’t matter who’s
there
We hear it in the
office
We hear it at home
With cell phones galore
Or mobiles at large
Noise of their
chatter
Leaves no one alone
We hear them on TV
And reach for the
phone
No wait, that’s the
actor
Who’s talking alone
Now with computers
Satellites and all
Phones now rule
The whole damn world!
