The Gillard and The Rudd - a political poem
The Gillard and the Rudd
By Paul Howlett
The Gillard and the Rudd
Had it out one day
Both wanted the same thing
To be king pin, top of the heap
Gillard was rudderless
Rudd was gilled to his ears in angst
Lots of vitriol coming from people, from his past
He’s just awful, said the treasurer
Forgetting that he was part of his past
Rudd and he were buddies
But that was not to last
What we see is in the life of politics
One friend is one’s enemy depending on the date
The position that you hold, but what will be the fate
Of those that spit fire and hate
Will all come back to haunt them in the long run
As karma kicks in...sends them all out of power
Giving them all a cold shower
The winner of course is the Liberal National Party
As Election Day dawns and the suns sets on the Labor Circus.

Note: The Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is being challenged by Kevin Rudd a former Prime Minister who was defeated by Julia Gillard in a coup in 2010. In Australia, the members of parliament elect the leader, and if the leader loses the support of the majority of the elected members of parliament –this can cause a change in leadership.
Liberal National Party is currently the Opposition in the Australian Parliament. Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd are members of the Australian Labor Party that is currently in power in Feb 2012.

Kangaroo Dragon - Australian influenced artwork
Here is a “Kangaroo” dragon, which shows my Australian background. I have watched some shows, where the creators of lots of alien creatures have come from the minds of people - who live on the Northern side of Earth. The creatures from our imaginations all start somewhere and sometimes they reflect our culture and geographic backgrounds.

Synchronicy - there is more to life...poem by Paul Howlett
Synchronicity
By Paul Howlett
Synchronicity, a word coined by C G Jung
Making us think, whatever the world might think
That there is more to life, than the trouble and strife
Of everyday existence, that science calls reality
What a joke on science when they find that God is around
The corner, we have an infinite space, with infinite suns
And planets of course, and we look and look and say we
Are the only intelligent life form about, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
People used to say that we were the center of the universe
Now a historical laughing stock, of science and Popes
Being such a dopes, without the nouse to say ...Hey
Copernicus was right; he has such insight, to work it out
Without the use of telescopes and such
He thunked it all out with a pen and mathematics
Which brings us back to today, and in just the same way
We are the blind skeptics to say, we are the only ones
And forgetting that God is always about, just look
Give a shout, and find the right way for you, everyday.
Hey, Hey Hey we all look the wrong way, look in the book
Look in the sky, look to the left and look to the right
See inward and out, look all about,
Then you will see... God is in thee and me.

Shane's Car - night time artwork
Shane’s Car by Paul Howlett
My step son Shane took a photo of his car at 4 am. There had been a light dusting of snow on the car, as it is the middle of a Wisconsin winter. The season so far, for his area of Wisconsin has been very mild for this 2012 winter. I sketched this little art work in oil pastels from his photo.
